Vermillion County Community Foundation has awarded a $1,250 grant to the Parke-Vermillion Adult Education Program. These funds will be used to purchase gas cards for students, assisting them with transportation to and from class. These gas cards are expected to increase student attendance and participation.

The Parke-Vermillion Adult Education Program has two classrooms in Clinton and one in Eugene. Periodically, students are required to travel to the office and testing center located in Rockville, serving areas such as Clinton, Cayuga, Eugene, Perrysville, Dana, St. Bernice, and Blanford.

“We consider it an honor to assist this program through the form of gas cards,” said Foundation CEO Dale White. “Understanding the crucial role transportation plays in achieving success, we are confident that enhancing student attendance and engagement will only produce positive outcomes for those participating in this program.”

Vermillion County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Western Indiana Community Foundation, is a not-for-profit public charity established in 1996 to serve donors, award grants and scholarships, and provide leadership to improve all of Vermillion County.
