A Rockville High School graduate, Kayla Hale is familiar with the local community and schools. This will help her as she will be serving as the Rockville Elementary counselor this year.

She is a graduate of Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and will be continuing her education as she completes her Masters Degree in Counseling. She has been working in school and child care environments in Indiana and Florida.

“I think it is a great opportunity to be a part of a community where the school is supported and the staff is a team,” said Kayla.

Her goals as a counselor include assisting students to find a safe place to land at school no matter what; to help them learn and to use life skills that will help them navigate through life.

“I have had the privilege of working in different environments with different kids and adults. This has led me to realize how different we all truly are. I hope to help use that knowledge to help those around me, kids and staff alike, that our differences are really a beautiful piece we each bring to the table. If we are all able to learn from each other that way it makes our world a much more beautiful and cultivated place!” said Kayla.

Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Blake, and two daughters, Charlotte and Emma who are in first grade and kindergarten. She also loves to craft. This past year, she bought an embroidery machine and has really started enjoying making different things on it.
